Family Still Searching for Answers in Disappearance of Emma Baum, Missing Pregnant Woman from Gary, Indiana

More than a month has passed since Emma Baum, a 25-year-old woman from Gary, Indiana, went missing, and her family remains desperate for answers. Emma was last seen on October 10 near 25th Avenue and Connecticut Street, as reported by ABC 7 Chicago. At the time, she was nine months pregnant, which has only intensified her family’s search and concern.

Emma reportedly visited the father of her unborn child that day in a remote area known for its desolate surroundings. Her family has shared that she did not have a working phone with her, leaving them worried about her ability to reach out for help if needed. Since her disappearance, friends and family members have canvassed the area, handed out flyers, and pursued any leads they could find in their efforts to locate her. On October 28, her family formally reported her missing to the Gary Police Department, according to Chicago’s WGN9 News.

On Friday, November 15, Emma’s family held an emotional news conference, pleading for information and support from the public. “I have stopped people in their cars. I have stopped people walking. I have talked to anybody I could. We’re looking in abandoned houses,” Emma’s sister, Hailey Baum, said during the conference, as reported by CBS News.

Emma’s family is urging anyone with information to come forward, hoping that someone, somewhere, has a clue that could lead them to her. They remain steadfast in their commitment to bringing her home safely and finding answers to the questions that have haunted them for weeks.
