The Maui Police Department is reaching out to the public for assistance in locating Derek Kingery, a 32-year-old man from Nebraska. Authorities are urging anyone with information about his whereabouts to come forward and help in the effort to find him.

Derek Kingery was officially reported missing on Sunday, November 17, 2024, by a family member after he failed to return to his hotel room in Kīhei. Witnesses at the hotel stated they last saw Kingery around 2 p.m. that afternoon, walking toward the beach.

Despite efforts to locate him, there has been no further information about his whereabouts since then, prompting concern from both his family and authorities.

Derek Kingery is described as being 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighing approximately 155 pounds. He has blond hair and blue eyes, distinguishing features that may help in identifying him.

At the time he was last seen, Kingery was dressed casually, wearing a t-shirt and shorts. Authorities are urging anyone who may have seen someone matching this description to come forward with information.

According to police, Derek Kingery does not have access to a vehicle, which may limit his ability to travel far from the area. Additionally, his cell phone is currently turned off, making it difficult for authorities or his family to contact him or track his location. These factors have heightened concern for his safety and well-being.

The Maui Police Department is urging anyone who may have information about Derek Kingery’s whereabouts to come forward.

Those with details can contact the department through their non-emergency number at 808-244-6400. In urgent situations or emergencies, individuals are encouraged to dial 911 and reference MPD report number 24-033657 to assist authorities in their investigation.

Every piece of information, no matter how small, could be crucial in locating him.
