Donald Trump Jr., the son of President-elect Donald Trump, has alleged that the Biden administration’s recent military aid to Ukraine is a deliberate move to provoke “World War III.” He suggested that this escalation comes as a last-ditch effort ahead of Donald Trump’s anticipated return to the White House for a second term.

Trump Jr.’s remarks follow President Joe Biden’s controversial decision to authorize the Ukrainian military to deploy American-supplied long-range missiles against Russian targets. According to Trump Jr., this decision not only intensifies global tensions but also risks drawing the United States further into a dangerous conflict.

President Joe Biden’s term is set to conclude on January 20, coinciding with President-elect Donald Trump’s scheduled inauguration for his second term. As tensions between the United States and Russia continue to rise, the Biden administration’s recent actions have drawn criticism for potentially escalating the conflict further. Meanwhile, Donald Trump has reiterated his belief that he could bring an end to the ongoing war if given the opportunity.

Donald Trump Jr. added his voice to the criticism, taking to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to accuse the Biden administration and the “military-industrial complex” of fueling chaos in the war. In his post, Trump Jr. alleged that there is a deliberate push to escalate the conflict before his father returns to office and has the chance to negotiate peace. “The Military Industrial Complex seems to want to make sure they get World War 3 going before my father has a chance to create peace and save lives. Gotta lock in those $Trillions. Life be damned!!! Imbeciles!” he wrote.

These comments follow President Biden’s recent approval of Ukraine’s use of the US-made Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS), a long-range missile capable of striking deep into Russian-held territories. Reports indicate that the missiles were used in the Kursk region, a sensitive area located along the northeastern border between Russia and Ukraine. Critics warn that such decisions could further entrench the United States in the ongoing conflict, with potentially catastrophic global consequences.

The Army Tactical Missile Systems (ATACMS) approved for Ukraine by President Joe Biden have a range of approximately 190 miles and are known for their devastating blast impact. After months of requesting these weapons, Ukraine indicated its plans to deploy them soon, aiming to regain momentum on the battlefield following a series of setbacks, according to the New York Post.

February 2025 will mark three years since the start of the Russia-Ukraine war, which began on February 24, 2022, when Russia launched its invasion of Ukraine. Against this backdrop, Donald Trump’s presidential campaign prominently featured his promise to end the ongoing conflict. During his first debate with Democratic opponent Kamala Harris, Trump confidently stated that he could bring the war to a close within 24 hours if he succeeded Joe Biden as president.

Following his decisive victory in the U.S. presidential election over Harris, Trump wasted no time signaling his commitment to this pledge. He was reportedly in contact with both Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin. Steven Cheung, Trump’s communications director, told the New York Post, “As President Trump has said on the campaign trail, he is the only person who can bring both sides together to negotiate peace, end the war, and stop the killing.” Despite these bold claims, Trump has yet to reveal the specifics of his strategy for achieving peace.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump Jr., the eldest son of the president-elect and his first wife, Ivana Trump, has been a key figure in his father’s political efforts. Actively involved in Trump’s campaign and post-election transition, Trump Jr. is playing a significant role in shaping the next administration. According to the Post, he is deeply engaged in decisions regarding Cabinet appointments and other critical aspects of the transition process.

As the world watches the evolving geopolitical situation, the Trump administration faces mounting expectations to deliver on its promise of peace, especially as tensions remain high following Biden’s decision to arm Ukraine with long-range missiles.
