Following a deadly hit-and-run accident earlier this month, McDonald County police make an arrest. On Tuesday, November 19, Gloria Trejo, 53, of Noel, was taken into custody and accused of fleeing the scene of a tragic collision. On November 2, the Noel Marshal’s Office arrived at the crossroads of Hall Ridge Road and South Kings Highway outside of Noel. They discovered Michael Pruden’s dead body there.

Officers discovered a fragment of lens close to the scene of the collision, according to court documents. They said that they were able to identify the car as a 1992 Ford F-150 by locating a serial number from the lens. According to investigators, Trejo acknowledged hitting something in the road and discovered it was a person when she returned to investigate. Trejo told authorities she “got scared and left,” according to the probable cause affidavit. A $2,000 cash-only bond is being used to hold her.
