Trump Shocks Nation by Nominating Lori Chavez-DeRemer to Lead the US Labor Department – What This Means for America’s Future

12

Republican US Representative Lori Chavez-DeRemer has been selected by US President-elect Donald Trump to head the Labor Department. Union members in her area strongly supported the Oregon House member who lost her reelection campaign earlier this month. In addition to managing the Labour Department’s workforce and budget, Chavez-DeRemer would propose policies that affect workers’ rights to health, safety, and unionization, as well as employers’ power to terminate workers.

“The Labor Department will be able to bring Americans from all walks of life together behind our Agenda for Unprecedented National Success – Making America Richer, Wealthier, Stronger, and more Prosperous than ever before thanks to Lori’s strong support from the business and labor communities.” Trump stated in a press release.
