Man, 81, violently attacked in Florida home as suspect allegedly stole $350 worth of medical marijuana
The public is being asked to assist the Martin County Sheriff’s Office in tracking down a man who attacked an 81-year-old man earlier this month in his home. The victim informed authorities that an unidentified male had entered his house through the rear door while he was asleep, and the crime occurred on November 3 at approximately 10 p.m., according to a case report. When his security camera detected movement in his house, the man was notified.
The man can be seen searching through the owner’s possessions on the surveillance footage from that evening. A brawl then broke out, and the victim confronted him. On camera, the suspect punches the man and knocks him to the ground during their altercation. The report states that three containers were taken by the suspect.
The complaint claims that after stealing three marijuana canisters, the suspect hurried out the front door. The victim claimed that he attempted to pursue him but was unable to get up in time, according to the report. On I-95, a woman was shot in the neck while driving with her son. According to the report, he noted, the total worth of the things seized was around $350. Battery against an individual 65 years of age or older, grand theft of a controlled substance, and home invasion robbery without a handgun or other weapon are among the accusations the suspect is facing.
