Mississippi Votes Today! Crucial Judicial Elections Underway – Here’s What You Need to Know

Polling stations are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. today as voters in central and south Mississippi head to the ballot box to select key judicial officials.

In central Mississippi, including the Jackson Metro area, incumbent Supreme Court Justice Jim Kitchens is facing off against Republican state Sen. Jenifer Branning of Neshoba County for a seat on the state Supreme Court. Meanwhile, on the Gulf Coast, Jennifer Schloegel and Amy St. Pé are competing for an open position on the Court of Appeals.

Voters are reminded to bring a valid photo ID to cast their ballots. Acceptable forms include a Mississippi driver’s license, a government-issued ID, a U.S. passport, a military ID card, a current student ID from an accredited college or university, or a Mississippi voter ID card.
