Trump’s stimulus checks:
During the peak of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, millions of Americans relied on the federal government’s economic impact payments, sometimes known as stimulus checks, to make ends meet while many were out of work. Trump wrote two such checks during his first term, the first in March 2020 for up to $1,200 and the second in December 2020 for up to $600. The last payments, in the form of $1,400 checks, were made by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) under President Joe Biden in 2021, as required under the American Rescue Plan Act. The government issued nearly 476 million payments totaling over $814 billion during the outbreak, according to the Outbreak Response Accountability Committee.
