On Thursday evening, during the 2024 Fox Nation Patriot Awards held in Long Island, New York, President-elect Donald Trump was honored with the prestigious title of “Patriot of the Year.” The award, presented as part of FOX Nation’s annual celebration, recognizes individuals who exemplify unwavering dedication to the nation and its core values.

The ceremony brought together influential figures, supporters, and community leaders to acknowledge exceptional contributions to American patriotism. Trump, who is preparing to take office as the President of the United States, expressed his appreciation for the recognition in a night filled with tributes to service and national pride.

Established in 2019 by FOX Nation, the Patriot Awards were designed to celebrate and honor America’s finest patriots, including military veterans, first responders, and everyday individuals who inspire others through their service and dedication. This annual event highlights remarkable contributions to the nation and its communities.

President-elect Donald Trump, 78, took the stage at the ceremony, continuing his post-election victory lap with a focus on his recent electoral and popular vote successes. Trump expressed gratitude for the recognition and used the occasion to reflect on his connection with FOX Nation.

Praising the network, he remarked, “You have incredible people at Fox,” acknowledging his close relationships with some within the organization. The evening served as both a celebration of patriotism and a platform for Trump to engage with supporters following his election triumph.

Donald Trump’s appearance at the Patriot Awards coincided with ongoing preparations for his incoming administration as President-elect. On Thursday, Trump made significant announcements regarding key appointments, including naming David Sacks as the “AI and Crypto Czar,” a newly created role to oversee advancements and policy in artificial intelligence and cryptocurrency. Additionally, he revealed the selection of former U.S. Senator David Perdue to serve as the ambassador to China, reflecting his administration’s focus on strengthening diplomatic relations and addressing complex global challenges. These strategic appointments highlight Trump’s priorities as he gears up for his return to the White House.

The Patriot Awards event, initially scheduled to be hosted by Pete Hegseth, underwent a last-minute change in its lineup. Hegseth, who is currently navigating controversy as the nominee for Defense Secretary, stepped down from his role at FOX Nation to accept the nomination. In his place, veteran broadcaster Sean Hannity took over as host, bringing his signature energy and charisma to the evening’s proceedings.

In addition to the highly anticipated “Patriot of the Year” honor awarded to President-elect Donald Trump, the ceremony also featured several other distinguished accolades. Among them were the “Culture Warrior Award,” recognizing individuals who champion traditional values and cultural integrity, and the “T2T Stephen Siller Back the Blue Award,” which honors extraordinary contributions to law enforcement and public safety. These awards underscored the evening’s theme of celebrating dedication, service, and resilience.

In 2023, the “Patriot of the Year” award category was notably absent from the FOX Nation Patriot Awards lineup. However, the event still honored prominent figures for their contributions. Among the previous year’s winners were Tiffany Justice and Tina Descovich, co-founders of the conservative education advocacy group Moms for Liberty, recognized for their efforts in promoting parental rights in education. Another honoree was bestselling crime novelist James Patterson, celebrated for his literary achievements and philanthropy.

Looking ahead, President-elect Donald Trump has revealed his plans for an international appearance. In a post shared on Truth Social on Monday, Trump announced that he would be attending the grand reopening ceremony of the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris on Saturday. This event marks a significant milestone in the restoration of the iconic landmark following the devastating fire in 2019.
