In a series of posts on Truth Social, former President Donald Trump announced new appointments under his nominated Secretary of State, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.).

Trump revealed that Michael Anton would serve as the Director of Policy Planning in the State Department. “Michael has served me loyally and effectively at the National Security Council during my first term,” Trump wrote. “He has an extensive background in government, the private sector, and academia.” Trump also highlighted Anton’s efforts over the past eight years in articulating the principles of an “America First” foreign policy. Anton, who previously held a senior national security role in Trump’s administration, was later appointed to the National Board for Education Sciences.

Additionally, Trump announced Christopher Landau as his pick for Deputy Secretary of State. If confirmed by the Senate, Landau will work closely with Rubio. “Chris served as my Ambassador to Mexico, where he worked tirelessly with our team to reduce illegal migration to the lowest levels in history,” Trump stated. He praised Landau as one of the nation’s foremost legal minds, noting that he had clerked for Supreme Court Justices Antonin Scalia and Clarence Thomas.
