Florida is bracing for its first freeze of the season as temperatures are forecasted to plummet overnight on Sunday, particularly along the I-10 corridor. According to meteorologists, several northern cities will experience freezing conditions, with temperatures dropping below 32 degrees.

The coldest areas include Marianna in Jackson County, where Monday morning temperatures will feel like a frigid 24 degrees. Similarly, Panama City is expected to experience a low of 25 degrees, while temperatures in Crestview, Perry, Tallahassee, Lake City, Apalachicola, Graceville, Jacksonville, Pensacola, and Horseshoe Beach are forecasted to range between 27 and 30 degrees.

A freeze warning is likely to be issued across multiple locations along the I-10 corridor overnight into Monday morning. The Florida Division of Emergency Management has cautioned residents to prepare for the cold snap, which will have the greatest impact in northern Florida.

Forecasters advise residents to take precautions to protect vulnerable plants, pets, and pipes from the freezing temperatures. This marks a stark change for the Sunshine State as it transitions into cooler weather.
