15-Year-Old Facing Possible Charges After Fatal West Palm Beach Collision

The 15-year-old boy driving the pickup truck was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital and is reported to be in fair condition.

The West Palm Beach Police Department is currently investigating a deadly crash that occurred at the intersection of Village Boulevard and Shenandoah Drive.

West Palm Beach police reported receiving a call just before noon on Wednesday regarding a collision between a Lexus and a pickup truck.

 

The crash happened when a Ford F150 pickup truck, driven by a 15-year-old boy, was heading south on Village Boulevard. At the same time, the driver of a Lexus attempted to turn left from Shenandoah Drive onto Village Boulevard. The pickup truck collided with the driver’s side of the Lexus.

The Lexus driver, identified as 68-year-old Maureen Andrea Wheeler, was pronounced dead at the scene. The 15-year-old pickup truck driver was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital and is listed in fair condition.

In a release, West Palm Beach Police stated that speed is preliminarily believed to have been a contributing factor in the crash, and potential criminal charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.
