Christmas Surprise! Find Out Who Gets Their SSDI Payment on Christmas Eve 2024

12

Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) is one of the Social Security programs that helps those with impairments. People who have worked and paid Social Security taxes for years but are unable to work because of a disability are the target of this benefit.

One of the primary questions that come up while enrolling for the program is when the monthly payment will be made, how much money will be given as a benefit, and who should be informed of the most recent information regarding payment dates.

Payment Schedule

According to the schedule put in place in May 1997, payments are made each month based on the beneficiary’s birthdate.

Second Wednesday: You will get paid on the second Wednesday of every month if your birthday falls between the first and the tenth.

Third Wednesday: You will get paid on the third Wednesday of every month if your birthday falls between the eleventh and the twentieth.

Fourth Wednesday: You will get paid on the fourth Wednesday of every month if your birthday falls between the 21st and the 31st.

Disability benefits are still paid on the third day of each month to those who began receiving them prior to May 1997.

On what day will I receive my payment for December 2024?

We would only have the “fourth Wednesday” before Christmas in this scenario. This is how it would appear: December 24: You will receive your Social Security payment on the fourth Tuesday in December (one day earlier than usual, due to the holiday) if your birthday comes after the twentieth of the month in which you were born.

If my payment is not received, what should I do?

Due to the Christmas holidays, there may be delays, so get in touch with your bank as soon as possible. Call the Social Service Administration or get in touch with the closest office if the issue is not with the bank. To prevent delays during these Christmas seasons, don’t forget to do this beforehand.
