Duo found guilty of kidnapping, torturing, killing men before dumping bodies in Opa-locka

In a federal court this week, two individuals were convicted guilty of abducting, torturing, and executed two truckers in 2020 before disposing of their remains outside a deserted Opa-locka area. Miami residents James Edward Daniels, 59, and Frederick Eugene Rudolph, 69, were convicted of kidnapping, numerous counts of kidnapping resulting in death, and conspiracy to commit kidnapping resulting in death. Daniels, Rudolph, and other accomplices allegedly abducted three victims from an Opa-locka truck yard on December 5, 2020, according to the prosecution.

According to police, masked men abducted the guys, bound their hands, and subjected them to hours of torture in the back of a moving truck before shooting them in the head and abandoning them in an Opa-locka yard. In the rear of a home on 1801 Rutland Street, the remains of Osmar Oliva and Johan Gonzalez Quesada, together with the body of another man, were found with obvious evidence of abuse.

The third victim amazingly survived after being transported to the hospital in critical condition. A Miami Police lieutenant was detained on suspicion of domestic abuse. Drugs were stolen from the victims, and Oliva and Gonzalez also had their jewels taken. Back in November, a third defendant, Herbert Barr, 56, entered a guilty plea to kidnapping. Rudolph and Daniels will be imprisoned for life. On May 10, 2025, they are anticipated to be sentenced.
