Contrary to films that mimic his voice, U.S. President Joe Biden is not endorsing a new $6,400 stimulus package that has been approved by the federal government of the United States.
“THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT AS JUST APPROVED THE NEW STIMULUS, $6,400 for 97% of Americans,” reads a Facebook post that shares one of these films and opens a new tab.

A narrator in the advertisement that mimics Biden’s voice encourages viewers to register in order to get a $6,400 “spending card.” It states that the money is not repaid and that the program is available to everyone.
Stimulus packages, which open a new tab, include government initiatives to stimulate the economy or avert a recession, such as individual payments or tax credits.
However, the shared posts have nothing to do with official government initiatives. While claiming to be a “Federal Government Organization,” one Facebook page that opens a new tab and shares the video does not provide any links to official government websites.
Although it has a verified badge as a profile picture, Facebook has not validated it. In its “About” section, a new tab that opens and shares the video refers to itself as a “insurance agent,” but it provides no website or more details.
There is no proof that Biden approved or mentioned a $6,400 government stimulus this month, according to a new tab.
During the COVID outbreak, the government paid three rounds of direct payments to Americans as part of the economic impact payments, opens new tab.
Arequest for comment from Reuters was not immediately answered by the White House. In a new tab, the U.S. government cautions the public of frauds that are “offering ‘free money’ from the government” online and advises them to look for federal assistance programs on official government websites.
In an email, U.S. Department of the Treasury spokesman Jenna Valle-Riestra stated, “There are no new stimulus payments like that described.” “Any program of that kind would need congressional legislation.”
As previously discussed, Reuters opens a new tab with similar tweets that use Donald Trump’s voice to assert that the government was providing a $6,400 boost or subsidy.
VERDICT
Not true. A new $6,400 government stimulus is promoted in an ad with a narration that sounds like US President Joe Biden. In January 2024, there is no indication of any such stimulation.
