Key West firefighter arrested for alleged possession of cocaine, steroids
A firefighter in Key West was taken into custody on suspicion of possessing steroids and cocaine.
According to officials from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, Austin Michael Kimbler, 28, was taken into custody on Tuesday on several drug possession counts.
Kimbler joined the Key West Fire Department in 2018, according to records.
After a search of a residence yielded up cocaine, anabolic steroids, a digital scale, and drug paraphernalia, authorities claimed Kimbler was taken into custody.
Additionally, authorities claimed to have discovered multiple plastic bottles containing urine in Kimbler’s car during a search, which they said was connected to attempts to evade drug testing.
Kimbler received a prison booking. There was no information on the attorney.
According to a city official, Kimbler’s employment status hearing is scheduled on Monday.
