Shocking Truth Behind Matthew Livelsberger, the Owner of the Exploding Cybertruck

34

Investigators have identified U.S. Army Master Sgt. Matthew Livelsberger, 37, a Special Operations soldier on leave from his station in Germany, as the suspect who hired the Cybertruck that exploded outside the Trump International Hotel Las Vegas on New Year’s Day.

The Army and those who knew Livelsberger are providing a profile of him as investigators continue their probe into the explosion.

According to the Clark County Coroner’s Office, Livelsberger was shot in the head by himself, and a firearm was discovered at his feet. Investigators said the suicide occurred prior to the explosion.

A representative for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives said Livelsberger had lawfully bought two semiautomatic weapons on Monday.

Around 8:40 a.m. Pacific time, the truck, loaded with gas canisters and fireworks-style mortars, exploded, injuring seven persons. At a news conference on Friday, Sheriff Kevin McMahill informed reporters that investigators believe the explosion was purposeful but have not yet identified a motive.

Investigators are investigating the suspect’s mental health, according to Spencer Evans, special agent in charge of the FBI’s Las Vegas Division.

“Investigative steps have discovered and information with the Army indicates that he likely suffered from PTSD, and we are also aware that there were potential other family issues or personal grievances in his own life that may have been contributing factors,” he told reporters on Friday.

A U.S. official with knowledge of the probe told ABC News that Livelsberger had been getting mental health help for the past year.

According to an individual briefed on the inquiry, Livelsberger’s wife informed investigators that her husband had been absent from their Colorado Springs, Colorado, home since Christmas following a disagreement over accusations of adultery, ABC News said.

She stated that her husband would not harm anyone, the official continued.

About Matthew Livelsberger

According to Livelsberger’s military coworker, he was a “bighearted” team member who helped construct a doghouse for a stray dog that was adopted as a pet on the base and purchased gifts for Afghan children.

The fellow soldier remarked, “He never seemed to go down that path and always seemed to have his humanity very much in place, even in a place like Afghanistan where one’s heart can be hardened by the nature of the mission.”

Since the conclusion of their deployment, his former military comrade has been in touch with Livelsberger on occasion, and he even sent a present when he became a father in April of last year, he told CNN.

According to Livelsberger, the coworker received a thank-you note from his second wife, whom he married in 2022.

CNN contacted her for comment, but she did not reply. According to the fellow soldier, his comrade never showed signs of difficulty, either before or after they were deployed to Afghanistan and faced battle.

After choking up for a moment, he remarked, “It just makes me really sad to know that maybe something was going on with Matt and none of us knew.” “It goes without saying that we would have all reached out and done everything in our power to assist him.”
