Shocking Twist: Alexander Twin Denied Bond as Court Delays Ruling for Other in Rape Case
During a hearing in federal court in Miami on Friday, his twin brother was denied bond, and prominent real estate dealer Oren Alexander will have to wait until next week to find out if he will be released from jail. The brothers had applied for bond on gang rape and sex trafficking allegations. However, federal prosecutors contended that they posed a community and flight risk. Alon Alexander’s lawyer asked the judge to consider releasing him to home confinement under what they claimed would be secure conditions during Friday’s hearing. In addition to promising to pay any amount of money, they offered him a private, two-bedroom apartment on the eighth floor with a private security firm watching him all day and all night.
However, the judge turned down the plan and declared that Alon Alexander would stay in jail until he was transferred to New York. The judge emphasized the possible danger of leaving the nation, particularly to Israel, where his wife is a citizen, according to the judge. “Obviously we are disappointed that the magistrate judge was not willing to impose the conditions of release that we had proposed, including home confinement under electronic monitoring, surveilled by a private security company that is manned by former federal law enforcement officers, including the former special agent in charge of the FBI,” Howard Srebnik, the defense attorney, said following the hearing
The hearing for Oren Alexander’s detention was rescheduled for next week. A $115 million bail package put forth by their older brother Tal Alexander had already been denied by another judge, allowing the three men—who are well-known in South Florida and New York for their luxury real estate—to be released pending trial in New York City. In New York, the brothers were accused last month of seducing, drugging, and brutally raping dozens of women over a ten-year period. In Miami-Dade, Alon and Oren Alexander are also facing state charges related to three alleged sexual assaults. Oren and Tal Alexander are well-known for facilitating transactions for clients including Lindsay Lohan, Liam Gallagher, Kim Kardashian, and Kanye West on upscale real estate in Miami and New York City. They launched a new real estate venture in 2022. Alon Alexander attended law school and joined the family’s private security business.
