Nashville Weather Alert: Must-Know Forecast for the Week Ahead

20

As a cold air mass moves across most of the nation this week, a winter weather alert that predicted minimal ice accumulation in Nashville has ended. However, low temperatures are still anticipated, and a wind advisory is still in effect for some locations on Sunday night.

Due to the possibility of mild ice accumulation, the National Weather Service issued a warning about dangerous travel conditions Sunday morning, especially on bridges and overpasses.

A wind advisory is in effect through Sunday night in parts of Middle Tennessee. A “high chance” of wind gusts over 40 miles per hour was forecast in the most recent NWS bulletin.

According to NWS, these gusts will be felt mostly south of I-40, especially in Williamson County. Additionally, rain is predicted until Monday.

Early Sunday morning forecasts from the NWS situation report also predicted “sharply colder temperatures” starting Monday, along with the possibility of snow showers and minor snow accumulations along the plateau and the Tennessee/Kentucky border.
