Boca Raton husband allegedly slain by wife in cane-blade

According to the Boca Raton Police Department (BRPD), at about 10:27 a.m. on Monday, Terry Taylor, 58, called 911 after telling her neighbor that her husband had fallen on top of a knife. When Boca Raton Fire Rescue arrived on the scene in the 3300 block of Jaywood Terrace, they discovered Taylor’s husband inside the residence with a severe torso wound. Mason Baksh-Renfroe resides in the neighborhood. He stated it’s usually extremely quiet.ย  Detectives questioned Taylor further after acquiring this information, and she indicated that a heated disagreement over a sound system stereo had resulted in a violent confrontation between the pair.

She reported a dispute over a wooden cane, claiming that she grabbed a nearby brass cane with a sharp end in the heat of the moment. Terry acknowledged that she may have hurt Stanley by hitting him with it. John Tarantino, who lives nearby, described the encounter as something out of a movie. “Yeah, TV, not here,” Tarantino responded. “Certainly not here. I can’t believe this.”

A search warrant was conducted at their residence, resulting in a thorough inspection of the brass cane. Investigators discovered that the cane’s handle could be unscrewed, revealing a concealed blade that looked to have been wiped clean. Taylor told officers that her spouse has vascular dementia, Type II diabetes, cardiac problems, and has had many strokes. She also alleged that her spouse had previously been abusive towards her. Her spouse had surgery at Delray Medical Center and was subsequently pronounced deceased. Taylor was brought into the Palm Beach County Jail on charges of second-degree murder.
