Northeast Ohio Braces for Winter Weather Advisory

Weather Updates:

The National Weather Service (NWS) predicts 2-5 inches of snow in advisory regions, up to 1 inch outside these zones. Snowfall rates range from 0.5 to one inch per hour. The advisory starts at 4 a.m. Thursday and concludes at 7 a.m. Friday. According to the NWS, vehicles can expect poor visibility and slick roadways throughout this time. Commuters should allow additional travel time and avoid using cruise control. The National Weather Service recommends removing snow from automobiles to prevent accidents caused by flying snow.

Precautions to be taken:

Safety remains the highest priority. Drivers should keep a safe distance from snowplows and slow down on slippery roadways. The NWS also warns that even wet-looking roadways may be hazardous. The alert covers portions of Northeast Ohio and Northwest Pennsylvania, including large metropolitan centers. Officials advised monitoring local weather reports and preparing for unexpected delays. The storm emphasizes the need for winter preparation. Keep an emergency kit in your vehicle, including blankets, food, and drink. For more information, visit the NWS website or check local news.
