Palm Beach County deputies responded to a distress call at a residence in Loxahatchee, where they made a heartbreaking discovery. Upon entering the home, they found a deceased Yorkshire Terrier and three other dogs confined in crates contaminated with feces and urine. The conditions were described as extremely unsanitary and hazardous for the animals.

Following the discovery, authorities took the homeowner into custody on charges of animal neglect and cruelty. The surviving dogs were removed from the home and placed in the care of local animal services for treatment and rehabilitation.

On Wednesday, deputies from the Palm Beach County Sheriffโ€™s Office (PBSO) responded to a report concerning a suspected deceased dog at a home located on Temple Boulevard. Authorities were alerted after concerns were raised about the welfare of animals on the property. Upon arrival, officers began investigating the situation to assess the condition of the animals and determine the validity of the report.

When deputies arrived at the Temple Boulevard residence, they observed multiple dogs inside the home, including a 13-year-old Yorkshire Terrier named Baby, who appeared lifeless. The authorities were unable to enter the property initially and had to wait for the homeowner, identified as 39-year-old Jason Faroni, to arrive hours later.

Once Faroni granted access, the deputies were met with a disturbing scene. The overwhelming stench of urine and feces filled the home, indicating severe neglect. Upon further inspection, they discovered Baby deceased inside a crate, lying amid soiled bedding and surrounded by waste, with no signs of proper care or cleanliness.

As the deputies continued to investigate, they came across three additional dogs confined in separate crates under equally horrific conditions. Among them was Mossy, a 2-year-old brown brindle dog in critical condition. Mossy was severely emaciated, lying in her own waste with no food or water available. Though she exhibited faint eye movement, she was so weak that she could not stand, clearly in need of urgent medical attention.

In addition to the critical condition of Mossy and the tragic death of Baby, deputies also discovered two other dogs confined in similar distressing circumstances. Sig, a 4-year-old black Malinois, and Ruger, a black Rottweiler estimated to be between 5 and 7 years old, were both found trapped in crates filled with urine and feces. Like the others, they had no access to food or water, indicating prolonged neglect.

During questioning by deputies, homeowner Jason Faroni disclosed that his residence had been without running water or electricity for approximately three weeks. This lack of basic utilities appeared to have contributed to the deteriorating conditions within the home and the suffering of the animals.

As a result of the disturbing findings, the Palm Beach County Sheriffโ€™s Office (PBSO) seized all four dogs from the property to ensure their safety and provide necessary care. Faroni has since been charged with aggravated animal cruelty, along with six counts of unnecessary overloading and deprivation of care, and four counts of impounding animals without sufficient food or water.
