Boynton Beach Shooting Leaves One Dead, Five Injured; Police Investigate Isolated Incident
In the early hours of Sunday, January 19, 2025, a tragic shooting occurred in Boynton Beach, Florida, resulting in one fatality and five injuries. The Boynton Beach Police Department (BBPD) responded to multiple reports of gunfire around 1:40 a.m. near the 500 block of NE 2nd Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered five individuals with gunshot wounds; a sixth victim later sought medical attention independently.
The victims were promptly transported to local hospitals. Tragically, 31-year-old Davon Wood of Fort Lauderdale succumbed to his injuries. One individual remains in critical condition, while the other four sustained non-life-threatening injuries.ย
Preliminary investigations suggest that the incident stemmed from an altercation between two individuals during a gathering, leading to the subsequent shooting. Authorities believe this to be an isolated event.ย

Itโs scary to know because like six people were shot around this area.โ
