Imprisoned Gang Member Accused of Threatening Palm Beach County Judge
PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. – A disturbing case has emerged involving a gang member in prison who is accused of sending threatening letters to a Palm Beach County judge and her family.
According to the criminal probable cause affidavit, the incident came to light on September 20, 2024, when the judge reported the matter to deputies at the Main Courthouse. She provided a letter that bore a “FILED” stamp, suggesting it originated from within a detention facility.
The letter, signed “R.S.,” alleged that the author had been unjustly sentenced in February 2021. The content of the letter included explicit threats against the judge, stating that once released, he intended to punish her. He threatened to physically assault her, have his gang “brothers” overthrow her courtroom, and even made horrifying claims of sexual violence, according to the deputy reports.
Authorities are investigating the matter and working to identify any additional safety measures required to protect the judge and her family. Further legal actions against the incarcerated individual are expected as the case develops.
This incident underscores the dangers faced by members of the judiciary, highlighting the importance of security measures in protecting those tasked with upholding the law.
