WHO Exit, Work From Home Ends: List Of Executive Orders Signed By Trump
Donald Trump issued a record number of executive orders shortly after becoming the 47th president of the United States today, one of which called for the US to leave the World Health Organization. The executive orders address everything from forcing federal employees to return to work full-time to revoke birthright citizenship and withdrawing the US from the Paris Climate Accord. Donald Trump, who claimed that Washington was unjustly paying more than China to fund the United Nations health body, issued an order for the United States to leave the organization.
Trump issued an executive order mandating full-time return to work for government employees. Allowances for working from home were very popular during COVID to stop the virus from spreading. As he had done in his first term, the president promptly pulled the United States out of the Paris Climate Accord. In addition to announcing that he will deploy troops to the US-Mexico border and try to terminate birthright citizenship, Trump also announced significant new limitations on immigration and asylum in the US. At the southern frontier, he proclaimed a state of national emergency.
1,500 of his supporters who participated in the January 6, 2021, attack on the US Capitol by his supporters in an attempt to rig the 2020 election were pardoned by the president. Trump revoked a number of executive directives that supported LGBTQ equality and diversity initiatives. Going forward, he stated, the United States government will only acknowledge “two genders, male and female.” Additionally, Trump signed an order establishing a “national energy emergency” with the goal of greatly increasing drilling activities in the nation in order to eventually become a global energy exporter.
The president proposed a partnership with the Chinese owner of TikTok and ordered a 75-day halt to the implementation of a regulation that would essentially ban the app. Trump reversed a historic move by the administration of former President Joe Biden by lifting penalties against Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank who were alleged to have committed crimes against Palestinians. Trump took Cuba off of a list of states that fund terrorism, reversing another of Biden’s more recent actions.
