Nashville High School Shooting Leaves One Student Dead, Another Wounded
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — A tragic shooting occurred in a Nashville high school cafeteria on Wednesday, resulting in the death of a female student and injuries to another, just under two years after a previous school shooting in the city that sparked intense discussions about gun control in Tennessee

The shooter, identified as 17-year-old Solomon Henderson, was also a student at Antioch High School. He ultimately took his own life with a handgun, according to Metro Nashville Police spokesperson Don Aaron during a press conference.
Police Chief John Drake reported that Henderson confronted 16-year-old Josselin Corea Escalante in the cafeteria and opened fire, resulting in her death. Another student was grazed by a bullet but has since been treated and released from the hospital. Additionally, a third student was hospitalized due to a facial injury sustained during a fall amid the chaos, as noted by Aaron.
