On January 18, a wedding at the Boca Lago Country Club in South Florida took a dramatic turn when 52-year-old attorney Mark Roher lost his temper over being cut in line at the carving station. Roher had been patiently waiting his turn to serve himself some prime rib when another man allowed his daughter and another young girl to bypass him in line. Feeling disrespected and frustrated, Roher confronted the man about the perceived slight. What began as a verbal disagreement soon escalated into a physical altercation, with the situation spiraling out of control and ultimately leading to violence. The chaotic scene at the wedding left guests shocked and led to Roherโ€™s eventual arrest.

Florida Man Starts Physical Fight After Getting Cut Off In Buffet

According to a police report from the Palm Beach County Sheriffโ€™s Office, Mark Roherโ€™s frustration grew as the man he confronted ignored his complaints about being cut in line. Despite Roher expressing his dissatisfaction, the other man remained unresponsive, which only fueled Roherโ€™s anger. Without any further warning, Roher allegedly grabbed a dinner plate and struck the man in the head, causing the plate to shatter upon impact. Witnesses at the scene reported that the situation quickly spiraled out of control, with the initial confrontation escalating into a larger physical altercation involving several other wedding guests who became involved in the chaos.

In his police interview, Mark Roher acknowledged that he was upset over the line-cutting incident, but he denied using the plate as a weapon. While he admitted to pushing the other man in the heat of the moment, Roher maintained that he did not strike him with the plate. He further clarified that the wedding was a โ€œdry party,โ€ meaning no alcohol was served, and he had not been drinking at the time. However, the police report contradicted some of Roherโ€™s statements, as it noted that he had physically engaged with the victim, both by pushing him and by grabbing him by the collar during the altercation.

As a result of the incident, Roher was arrested and charged with felony aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. In addition to his arrest, both Roher and his wife were issued trespassing warnings, effectively banning them from returning to the Boca Lago Country Club for one year.
