All January Social Security payments have been disbursed, and February’s installments are quickly approaching. At this point, recipients’ monthly benefits are anticipated to have increased due to the 2.5% COLA rise. Supplemental Security Income and Social Security Disability Insurance recipients should experience an increase in their monthly benefits due to the COLA. If you don’t know when to expect your check, you’ve come to the correct spot. A few factors influence when you get your payment, including how long you have been collecting benefits and the day of the month you were born. For further information, see the Social Security and SSDI cheat page. And if you’re still waiting for your January check, find out what to do if your Social Security payment is missing.

When will I receive my Social Security check?

What day of the month will you get your check? Here is the Social Security and SSDI payment schedule for February.

  • You got Social Security before May 1997: February 3.
  • If your birthday is between the 1st and 10th of a particular month, February 12
  • If your birthday is between the 11th and 20th of any given month, February 19
  • If your birthday is between the 21st and 31st of any given month, February 26.

How is my Social Security payment date determined?

Social Security payments are typically made beginning on the second Wednesday of each month. The remaining two installments will be distributed on the next two Wednesdays of the month. Your birthday determines which week you receive your money.

Birthdate Social Security check date
1st and the 10th 2nd Wednesday of the month
11th and the 20th 3rd Wednesday of the month
21st and 31st 4th Wednesday of the month

Will you get other government perks on the same day?

If you earned Social Security payments before May 1997 or received both Social Security and Supplemental Security Income, your payment schedule is not governed by your birth date. Instead, payments are sent monthly on the same day, with a few exceptions. Social Security payments are paid out on the third of each month, whereas SSI payments are handed out on the first. These dates may alter if the first or third of the month coincides with a weekend or holiday. Last year, March 3 happened on a Sunday, so Social Security beneficiaries received their March payouts two days early, on March 1.ย

Didn’t get your Social Security check?

If your check does not arrive when expected, the Social Security Administration recommends waiting three more mailing days before calling it. After that, dial the national toll-free number: 1-800-772-1213. According to the Social Security Administration, “wait times to speak to a representative are typically shorter in the morning, later in the week, and later in the month.” If you’re having problems reaching the SSA via the national number, you may utilize the office locator to identify a local office to contact.ย
