From Blue Skies to a Wet and Wild Weekend! Seattle Faces Rain, Wind, and Even a Chance of Snow

The National Weather Service reports that Seattle is currently experiencing clear skies and cold temperatures at 30°F (-1°C). Today, January 29, will bring mostly sunny skies with a high of 45°F (7°C), offering a brief break from winter’s chill. However, the dry spell won’t last long.

By Friday, January 31, a powerful system will roll in, bringing steady rain and strong winds. Temperatures will rise slightly to a high of 49°F (10°C), but the combination of rain and gusty conditions will make for a wet and unpleasant day.

The real weather drama unfolds over the weekend. On Saturday, February 1, passing rain showers will mix with chilly air, and some areas could even see a few wet snowflakes. Highs will reach just 43°F (6°C), while overnight lows will dip to 35°F (2°C). By Sunday, February 2, temperatures will drop further, increasing the chance of a rain-snow mix.

Seattle drivers are urged to use caution as wet and potentially icy roads could create hazardous conditions. Commuters should expect slow travel times, and outdoor plans may need to be adjusted.

While early next week looks drier, temperatures will remain chilly, with highs struggling to reach the mid-40s°F (5-7°C).

Seattle residents should prepare for a messy weekend—keep an umbrella handy, dress in layers, and stay tuned for updates as this storm system develops
