Palm Beach County Deputies Continue Search for Hit-and-Run Suspect Who Left 26-Year-Old Injured

PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. — Six months after a devastating hit-and-run accident, 26-year-old Tyler MacMillan and his family are still seeking justice as Palm Beach County deputies continue their search for the driver responsible.

MacMillan was struck by a car on July 20, 2024, at the intersection of Forest Hill Blvd and Haverhill in West Palm Beach. The driver fled the scene, leaving him seriously injured. He survived the crash but underwent multiple surgeries to repair a broken leg, knee, and ankle.

Despite the hardships, MacMillan remains determined to heal, both physically and emotionally. “100% I do think that person should be held accountable for their actions, and I think it would bring a lot of peace to the family,” he said. However, he has chosen not to dwell on anger. “I try not to harbor any anger or resentment because that’s just going to hinder me or hinder my progress.”

His family, particularly Talerico, expressed frustration over the lack of progress in the case. “Nothing really has happened, but I think that there should be a little bit of effort put on what happened to him and finding that person because the car is still there.”

Investigation Update

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO) continues to investigate the case. According to a spokesperson, authorities have located the registered owner of the suspect vehicle but do not believe this individual was driving at the time of the crash.

A detective discovered that multiple people regularly use the suspect vehicle, complicating efforts to identify the driver. Investigators also attempted to re-interview a key witness, but that person has yet to be located.

As the search for the hit-and-run suspect continues, MacMillan and his family remain hopeful for answers and justice. Authorities urge anyone with information to come forward and assist in identifying the person responsible for leaving MacMillan at the scene that night.
