Miami police have detained two individuals in connection with a stabbing incident that occurred on Thursday night, marking the third such attack in the city this week. Authorities reported that the stabbing took place around 8:40 p.m. in the 200 block of Northeast 2nd Street. Law enforcement officials are actively investigating the case to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and whether it may be linked to the previous stabbings.

Investigators have identified the victim as a 49-year-old man and confirmed that he is currently in stable condition. While police have not yet disclosed the specific type of weapon used in the attack, witnesses who spoke to NBC6 reported that the incident began as an argument between three men. According to these witnesses, tensions escalated when one of the men brandished a knife and stabbed the victim in the neck and shoulder area. Authorities are continuing their investigation to gather more details about the incident and determine any potential charges.

A cellphone video recorded by a witness captured the moments leading up to the stabbing, showing three men engaged in a heated argument near the scene around the time of the incident.

Eyewitness Norshelys Quiles described the confrontation, explaining that, at first, it appeared to be just a verbal altercation. “There were three guys having an argument. It seemed like they were trying to intimidate each other,” she recalled. However, the situation quickly escalated when one of the men’s friends suddenly appeared with a knife. “He came out of nowhere and stabbed the guy in the back, right in the neck,” Quiles said. Despite being injured, the victim continued to argue before stumbling backward. It wasn’t until he touched his neck that he realized he had been stabbed.

According to Quiles, the attacker then began waving the knife erratically, even turning toward bystanders on the street. “He started moving toward us and everyone nearby, which caused a lot of people to panic and run back inside the hotel,” she added. Realizing the severity of the situation, Quiles immediately called 911.

As of now, authorities have not released the identities of either the victim or the two men who were detained in connection with the incident. The investigation remains ongoing.
