American Heritage Schools student removed after racial slur video surfaces
After a video of an American Heritage Schools student using a racist slur went viral, the youngster was expelled from the school. According to information obtained by NBC6, the student is the son of Douglas Laurie, the school president. Although the video is brief, many people are outraged by what is said about African Americans. Parents at the Plantation campus expressed their disdain and displeasure to NBC6 despite not wanting to be interviewed on camera. Some claim that if they voice their concerns, their kids would be expelled from school. Administrators removed the student from school and banned him from returning after the video, which was recently shared with NBC6, became viral among classmates. Because the student in the video is a minor, NBC6 does not identify or reveal him.

On Monday, American Heritage Schools issued the following statement: The student in question has been taken off campus and will not be permitted to return, according to American Heritage Schools. The statement said, “We want to stress that our school maintains the highest standards of conduct and does not tolerate behavior that goes against our values, regardless of the individual involved, even though we do not discuss specific matters regarding minors.” “We are dedicated to preserving an atmosphere that is secure, courteous, and encouraging for every student. We value your cooperation and understanding in protecting the privacy of individuals impacted. NBC contacted Laurie directly and through his office about the video, but he had not provided a response by the time of publication. We also contacted the student’s mother but didn’t hear back.
