A Delta Airlines flight carrying 80 people crashed while landing at Toronto Pearson International Airport in Canada on Monday. Shocking images from the scene showed the aircraft flipped upside down after the crash.

The aircraft, Delta Airlines Flight 4819, had 76 passengers and 4 crew members onboard. It departed from Minneapolis–St. Paul International Airport and was en route to Toronto Pearson International Airport when the incident occurred during landing.

All 80 people onboard were evacuated safely, but at least 18 individuals, including a child, sustained injuries. Among them, two people are in critical condition.

Toronto Pearson Airport addressed the incident in a statement on X (formerly Twitter), saying, “Toronto Pearson is aware of an incident upon landing involving a Delta Airlines plane arriving from Minneapolis. Emergency teams are responding. All passengers and crew are accounted for.”

A medical transport service, Ornge, confirmed that three critically injured passengers were transported to different hospitals, including a child (“paediatric patient”) and a man in his 60s.

The man in his 60s was admitted to St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto, while another patient was taken to Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the crash, while emergency teams continue to assess the damage and provide medical assistance to the injured.
