The Netflix true-crime documentary American Murder: Gabby Petito examines the killing and disappearance of 22-year-old travel vlogger Gabby Petito. She vanished in 2021 while traveling throughout the United States with her fiancé, Brian Laundrie. The Florida pair had been using social media to post updates on their trip. However, it raised concerns when Laundrie, who was 23 at the time, came home by herself on September 1. Petito’s family finally reported her missing on September 11 after she ceased communicating with them. Laundrie reportedly refused to assist authorities in their search for Petito.
