Maryland Man Pleads Guilty to First-Degree Murder in Fatal Stabbing of Girlfriend’s Ex-Boyfriend
A 28-year-old Maryland man, Thomas Eugene Harris II, has pleaded guilty to first-degree premeditated murder after fatally stabbing his girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend, Shaquille Quadry Braxton, during a dispute over child visitation. Authorities announced his plea last week, indicating that Harris could now face life behind bars for the brutal crime.

The incident took place on the night of February 15, 2024, when officers from the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a serious assault near Armory Road and Fairgrounds Road in Prince Frederick. Upon arrival, they found Braxton, 30, suffering from multiple critical stab wounds. Emergency medical responders rushed him to Calvert Health Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.
Investigators revealed that the fatal altercation stemmed from Braxton’s attempts to visit his child, which led to a confrontation with Harris. The case highlights the devastating consequences of domestic disputes escalating into violence.
With Harris now facing sentencing, the victim’s family continues to mourn the tragic loss of Braxton, remembering him as a devoted father whose life was cut short.
