‘He pushed me’: Teen recalls fighting off attempted kidnapper in South Miami
At around 12:30 a.m., police responded to an incident involving a girl who was screaming and pleading for help in the 6100 block of Southwest 86th Street. According to an arrest report, officers discovered a girl who claimed that a man in a blue car with a temporary paper tag grabbed her by the shoulders and back of her neck in an attempt to force her into his vehicle. “He grabbed me here and this is when I started swinging at him, too, and then,” the girl said when police arrested 32-year-old Brian Gamboa was taken into custody. “I began striking at him as well as he grabbed me here, and I then scraped my arms. Valerie, 16, told NBC6, “And he pushed me to the ground… and this knee can’t bend,” as she displayed her body’s scratches. She claimed that while screaming for assistance, she retaliated by hitting the man in the head with her cell phone, and the man drove away.

According to the report, the girl claimed that the man was wearing a white shirt, black shorts, and slides on his feet, and that he smelled like alcohol. She also claimed that a Gucci hat had fallen off his head during the altercation. According to authorities, a male from South Miami was taken into custody after attempting to abduct a girl who managed to fend him off early on Thursday. According to Miami-Dade jail records, 32-year-old Brian Gamboa was taken into custody on suspicion of attempted kidnapping and child assault. “I was just saying, help me, I was attacked, call the police,” Valerie claimed to remember. I kept hammering on doors…I was so exhausted that I simply lay down on the ground.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue arrived to examine the girl, who had cuts and scratches all over her body. According to the report, a short while later, an officer pulled over a car that Gamboa was driving and that fit the description of the one from the incident. According to the report, the girl recognized Gamboa as the man who had attacked her, and he had cuts on his face, elbows, and knees in addition to a contusion on the back of his head. According to the report, when Gamboa was asked if the Gucci hat belonged to him, he attempted to explain that it had been taken away from him by the police during the traffic stop. Gamboa was booked into jail by police. Later on Thursday, he appeared before a court, who imposed house arrest and put his bond at $30,000.
