Dash camera footage has revealed a dramatic moment when a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) trooper repeatedly attempted to stop a wrong-way driver on the Palmetto Expressway. The incident, which occurred on February 20, showcases the trooper’s determined efforts to prevent a potential tragedy on the busy highway.

The suspect, identified as John Michael Actisdano, was seen driving the wrong way in the westbound lanes of SR 826. The footage shows the trooper pursuing Actisdano, attempting to block his vehicle from advancing further. At one point, the suspect’s car collided with another vehicle while trying to evade the trooper, before ultimately being stopped using a Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT) maneuver.

Upon investigation, authorities discovered that the car had been reported stolen, and Actisdano was found to be impaired while driving on a suspended license. Jail records confirm that he was charged with grand theft of a vehicle, armed robbery with a deadly weapon, and driving under the influence with a suspended license.

The video serves as a powerful reminder of the dangers of reckless driving and highlights the swift action of law enforcement in preventing further harm. The Florida Highway Patrol continues to emphasize the importance of road safety, ensuring that those who endanger lives face serious consequences.
