Fort Lauderdale, FL – Family and friends gathered on Saturday to remember 16-year-old Tanaejah Atterbury, who tragically lost her life in a shooting last month. The emotional gathering took place at Atterbury’s home, where loved ones reflected on her life and shared heartfelt memories.

A Community in Mourning

NBC6 cameras captured the overwhelming support as people came together to pay tribute to the teenager. Shraday Heller, one of those attending, expressed gratitude for the outpouring of love, saying, “This is really amazing to see who her friends are, their family who supports me behind her.”

The Tragic Incident

According to Heller, the shooting occurred on February 17 during a fight on Northwest Eighth Avenue in Fort Lauderdale. Atterbury was standing nearby when someone pulled out a gun and started shooting. Tragically, she was struck by a bullet and later died at the hospital.

Disturbing 911 Calls Emerge

In the aftermath of the shooting, chilling 911 calls surfaced, revealing the panic and fear that unfolded in those crucial moments. Authorities have not yet confirmed any arrests or suspects in connection with the incident.
