Mother Brutally Kills Newborn with Letter Opener Right After Birth—You Won’t Believe the Details!

EASLEY, SOUTH CAROLINA – A South Carolina mother has been arrested after allegedly stabbing her newborn son to death with a metal letter opener just moments after giving birth. The gruesome crime has left both law enforcement and the local community in shock.

According to authorities, 31-year-old An T. Ngo gave birth inside her Easley apartment on March 7. Instead of seeking medical help, she allegedly used a letter opener to cut the umbilical cord before turning the weapon on her baby. Investigators say she then placed the infant’s body in a trash bag and moved it to another room.

Emergency responders arrived after receiving a call about a medical emergency at the residence. Tragically, by the time they got there, the baby was already dead.

Police Call It One of the Worst Crimes They’ve Ever Seen

Easley Police Chief Brandon Liner didn’t hold back when addressing the media.

“I’ve been in law enforcement for over 25 years, and I’ve never seen anything this horrific,” Liner stated. “This child never even had a chance at life.”

Police quickly determined that Ngo was responsible for the crime. She was taken to a hospital for medical treatment before being arrested on March 11. She now faces a charge of homicide by child abuse.

Legal Action and Community Reaction

Ngo appeared in court shortly after her arrest, where she was denied bail. She remains in custody and is expected to appear in court again on May 15.

The shocking nature of this case has deeply affected the Easley community. Many are struggling to understand how something so tragic could happen. Police officials say even the officers who responded to the scene are emotionally shaken by what they witnessed.

A Call for Awareness and Support

While this crime is deeply disturbing, it highlights the need for better mental health support and resources for struggling mothers. Authorities urge people to reach out if they or someone they know is in distress, as tragedies like this may be preventable with the right intervention.

Police are continuing their investigation and have vowed to seek justice for the newborn.
