Shocking Video: Man Sucker Punches Elderly Supermarket Worker in Miami Gardens!
Police in Miami Gardens are searching for a man caught on surveillance video punching a 67-year-old supermarket worker outside a Price Choice grocery store. The brutal attack happened on March 15, just before 9 p.m., at the store on 18351 NW 27th Avenue.
What Happened?
Security footage shows Carlton Samuels, a longtime supermarket employee, collecting shopping carts near the store entrance. As he went about his work, a man wearing a gray hoodie approached him. Without warning, the suspect walked around the carts and landed a powerful punch to Samuels’ head, knocking him to the ground.
After the attack, the man fled the scene. His identity remains unknown, and police are asking for the public’s help in finding him.
Victim Speaks Out
Despite the shocking incident, Samuels returned to work just days later.
“I was just putting the cart in, and he came up and punched me for no reason,” Samuels said. He recognized the suspect as someone who had been in the store before, but he has no idea why he was targeted.
“I want them to catch him,” he added. “He might do this again to someone else.”
Police and Community Response
The Miami Gardens Police Department has posted a “Need to Identify” flyer at the supermarket’s entrance, featuring the suspect’s image. They are urging anyone who recognizes him to come forward.
If you have any information, you can contact Miami Gardens Police at 305-474-6473 or Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS. Tips can be anonymous, and there is a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest.
A Growing Concern
Unprovoked attacks like this are becoming more common. Last year, a similar incident took place in Lauderdale Lakes, where an elderly shopper was punched in the face inside a Walmart. The suspect in that case, Joseph McFadden, was later arrested and charged with aggravated battery on a senior citizen.
Stay Vigilant
Police are urging residents to be aware of their surroundings and report any suspicious activity. With the help of the community, they hope to bring the attacker to justice before he strikes again.
