Shocking Heist: Thieves Rip Open Liquor Store with a Car in San Jose!
San Jose police are investigating a bold burglary that took place early Sunday morning at New Aborn Liquors. Surveillance footage captured a group of thieves using a car and a metal chain to forcibly remove the store’s front door before looting high-end liquor.
According to authorities, the suspects wrapped a chain around the entrance, attached it to the back of their vehicle, and accelerated in reverse, ripping the door completely off its hinges. Once inside, they quickly grabbed expensive bottles and fled the scene.
This type of crime has been on the rise across the Bay Area. In recent months, a wave of similar smash-and-grab burglaries has targeted businesses, particularly independent stores selling valuable goods. Camera shops in the region have been hit hard, with thieves using stolen cars to break through glass storefronts and steal high-end equipment worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.
One recent incident at Shutterbug Camera Shops in Santa Rosa resulted in the theft of around $100,000 in merchandise. The criminals used the same tactic, ramming a stolen vehicle into the store’s entrance.
Law enforcement is now investigating whether these crimes are linked. The trend has prompted local business owners to enhance security measures, including reinforced doors, security gates, and overnight surveillance patrols.

Authorities are urging the community to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity. Business owners are being advised to take extra precautions to prevent similar attacks.
