‘Casket warehouse’: Former Funeral Home Owner Kept Bodies in Storage Unit After Losing Business License, Called it his ‘2nd Home’ on TikTok, Cops Say

A former Mississippi funeral home owner, Albert “Al” Creath, 31, has been arrested after authorities discovered human remains inside a storage unit he used to illegally store bodies. The discovery, which has shocked the local community, was made following an investigation that revealed the bodies had been kept in the storage unit after Creath lost his funeral business license. Creath, who previously owned Creath Memorial Services in Greenville, faces two counts of improper desecration of corpses in connection with the grim find. Greenville Mayor Errick D. Simmons expressed his concern over the discovery, calling it “deeply disturbing” and urging a full investigation into Creath’s actions. The bodies were found in a facility on Reed Road near Beauchamp, and the arrest was made public by the Washington County Sheriff’s Department.

A “Casket Warehouse” on Social Media
The investigation into Creath’s activities led authorities to his social media presence, where he had posted videos showing himself storing caskets and other funeral items in the same storage unit. In one video, which appeared to be from September 2024, Creath referred to the unit as his “2nd home” and labeled it his “casket warehouse.” The footage, shared on his TikTok account under the handle “FuneralHomeCEO,” showed him organizing funeral supplies and caskets, giving the impression that he was still operating a funeral service business despite losing his license. Authorities suspect that Creath may have been attempting to continue hosting funerals and burials, as he had advertised these services on his social media platforms.
Investigating Potential Further Charges
The Washington County Sheriff’s Department is continuing to investigate Creath’s actions and the circumstances surrounding the illegal storage of the bodies. Chief Deputy Billy Barber stated that the discovery was part of a suspected burglary investigation and called the incident “isolated” but troubling. He emphasized that Creath’s failure to properly handle the bodies, along with his apparent attempts to continue operating funeral services, warranted serious scrutiny. Authorities are looking into whether other charges might arise from Creath’s behavior since he lost his business license. Mayor Simmons has also vowed to ensure that the community’s values of dignity and respect are upheld. “Greenville is a community that values dignity, respect, and the rule of law,” he said. “We will not tolerate any actions that violate those principles.” As the investigation continues, the public has been urged to come forward with any additional information that may assist authorities.
A Community in Shock
The news has left many in the Greenville community shaken, as the discovery of bodies in a storage unit is not only deeply unsettling but also raises questions about how the remains were handled in the absence of a licensed funeral service. With the investigation still ongoing, residents and officials are calling for transparency and a thorough review of Creath’s actions. The case serves as a grim reminder of the importance of adhering to legal and ethical standards in funeral services.
