Florida Man Arrested for Murder of Partner After Domestic Dispute

Last week, authorities in Florida arrested 41-year-old Lammar on charges of first-degree premeditated murder in connection with the death of his 42-year-old partner, Takeesha. The arrest followed a violent domestic dispute at their residence that ended in tragedy. The shooting occurred after deputies responded to a 911 call around 3:45 p.m. The caller reported hearing multiple gunshots and seeing two individuals fleeing the scene. Upon arrival, authorities discovered Takeesha in the bathroom with a gunshot wound to her head. She was immediately rushed to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
The Shooter’s Actions Leading Up to the Murder
The investigation revealed unsettling details about the shooter’s actions earlier that day. It was reported that Lammar had picked up one of his daughters from school, appeared intoxicated, and displayed disrespectful behavior. The two then stopped at a liquor store, where he consumed alcohol before heading to a storage unit. While at the storage unit, the daughter informed investigators that Lammar retrieved two firearms and placed them on the vehicle’s center console. When they returned home, Lammar allegedly instructed his daughter to hide the guns in a purse behind the house, claiming a police helicopter was nearby. Once the helicopter flew off, he retrieved the purse and took one of the firearms from it. Witnesses later reported hearing several gunshots after Takeesha entered the bathroom, followed by Lammar.

Domestic Violence and Unsettling History
Family members revealed that Takeesha had recently filed for divorce, but Lammar had refused to sign the papers. This tragic event occurred against the backdrop of a troubled past, as Lammar had been out on bond after two separate arrests earlier in March for unrelated offenses. His criminal history includes multiple arrests for drug-related offenses and probation violations. Takeesha, a mother of four and a grandmother, was remembered as the “roots of the family,” with her family emphasizing her vital role in holding everyone together. She was also deeply involved in her church, where she participated in praise dance and community outreach programs.
Lammar Faces Legal Consequences
Lammar is currently being held without bond at the county jail. He is scheduled for his initial court appearance later this week. The tragic incident has once again brought attention to the ongoing issue of domestic violence, sparking renewed discussions on the need for intervention and awareness in such cases. This devastating case underscores the dangers of domestic disputes and highlights the importance of addressing the root causes of violence within households.
