Rite Aid Shoppers: You Could Get a $10,000 Check from This Settlement – Here’s How!

33

If you’ve shopped at Rite Aid in recent years, you might be eligible for a payout of up to $10,000. The pharmacy giant has agreed to a $6.8 million settlement after a massive data breach exposed the personal information of around 2.2 million customers.

The breach, which happened in June 2024, allowed hackers to gain access to names, addresses, dates of birth, and even driver’s license numbers of customers. While financial information and health records were not leaked, the exposed data could still be used for identity theft and fraud.

Now, Rite Aid is paying up  and filing a claim is surprisingly easy.

Who Can Get Money?

Anyone in the U.S. whose personal information was compromised in the June 2024 breach is eligible to file a claim. If you shopped at Rite Aid between June 6, 2017, and July 30, 2018, your information may have been exposed.

There are two ways to get paid:

  • Full reimbursement (Up to $10,000): If you have proof of financial losses due to the breach, such as fraudulent charges, costs for credit monitoring, or identity theft expenses.

  • A smaller cash payment: If you don’t have specific documentation, you may still be eligible for a payout, though the amount depends on how many people file claims.

How to Claim Your Money

Claiming your part of the settlement is quick and simple:

  1. Get the claim form – Visit the official settlement website and download the form.

  2. Fill in your details – Enter your name, address, phone number, and email.

  3. Choose your payment type – Select either the full reimbursement (with proof) or the smaller cash payment (without proof).

  4. Submit your claim – Send the completed form online or by mail.

If you’re filing for the full $10,000 reimbursement, you’ll need to attach documents such as receipts for fraudulent charges, bank statements, or proof of credit monitoring services.

  • Deadline to opt out: June 6, 2025
