In a tragic case from Cold Springs, Nevada, 35-year-old Nicholas Loving has been arrested and charged with child abuse resulting in substantial bodily harm following the death of his 5-year-old daughter, Izabella Loving. Authorities allege that Izabella endured severe abuse, including being forced to sleep in a locked 5-by-5-foot makeshift box and suffering multiple injuries.

Despite discovering her unresponsive around 2 a.m. on April 3, Loving and the child’s mother, Andrea, reportedly waited nearly five hours before calling 911.

According to a probable cause affidavit, Izabella had been coughing up blood and mucus for ten days prior to her death. On the night she died, Nicholas allegedly took her temperature, gave her a bath, and placed her in the locked box.

Around midnight, another child alerted the parents that Izabella was vomiting. By 2 a.m., she had stopped breathing. Instead of seeking immediate medical assistance, the parents allegedly considered burying her body in the backyard and staged the scene to misrepresent the circumstances of her death.

When emergency responders arrived at approximately 6:50 a.m., Izabella was pronounced dead at the scene. She exhibited numerous signs of trauma, including injuries to her face, hips, pelvis, arms, and genitals.

Nicholas Loving is currently held on a $1 million cash bond. Andrea Loving has not been charged but reportedly expressed remorse for not intervening.
