Former Swansea Pizzeria Owner Opens New Spot with Old Favorites and New Additions
Pizza fans in Swansea have something to celebrate—Paul Mikaelian, the former owner of Plaza Pizza II, is making a comeback with a brand-new restaurant and some familiar favorites. His new venture, Bucko’s Pizzeria, officially opens Monday and brings back beloved menu items from Plaza Pizza II, along with several new dishes for customers to enjoy. The pizzeria will be located at 2388 G.A.R. Highway (Route 6), the former site of the Bristol County Auto Exchange. With a renewed focus on quality ingredients and creative options, Mikaelian says Bucko’s will deliver a mix of nostalgia and innovation to the Swansea dining scene.

Familiar Flavors and New Surprises
One of the biggest draws for returning customers will be the return of the original Plaza Pizza II menu, a favorite among local pizza lovers. Mikaelian has promised the same quality and flavor that made his previous pizzeria a go-to spot in town. The menu at Bucko’s will also include new specialty pizzas, fresh salads, subs, and appetizers, offering something for everyone. While the old favorites are expected to bring back loyal fans, Mikaelian is also excited to introduce creative additions that showcase his passion for pizza-making and his commitment to keeping things fresh and exciting.

Bucko’s Pizzeria is opening in a central and easily accessible spot on Route 6, giving it prime visibility and convenience for both dine-in and takeout customers. A New Chapter in a Familiar Story
For longtime customers, the opening of Bucko’s marks the return of a well-known name in Swansea’s food scene. Mikaelian’s original restaurant, Plaza Pizza II, built a strong following before its closure, thanks to its consistent quality and welcoming atmosphere. Now, with Bucko’s, he’s hoping to recreate that same sense of community while expanding on the culinary offerings. Mikaelian has expressed his gratitude for the support he’s already received leading up to the opening. “It’s great to be back doing what I love,” he said. “We’re ready to serve the community again with the food they remember—and some new favorites too.”
