An Indiana teenager who brutally stabbed his father 45 times inside the family’s convenience store before attending school as if nothing had happened has been sentenced to 30 years in prison. Ahmed Al-Malahi, now 18, pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter in March 2025, as part of a plea agreement that dismissed the original murder charge .
The incident occurred on February 7, 2023, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. According to court documents, Al-Malahi deliberately left the store’s door unlocked the previous night to facilitate his plan. He attacked his 52-year-old father, Tawfika Al-Malahi, stabbing him multiple times and slashing his throat. After the attack, he staged the scene to appear as a robbery before proceeding to his high school classes .

Authorities arrested Al-Malahi later that day after surveillance footage and forensic evidence linked him to the crime. During the investigation, he confessed to the killing, revealing that he had planned the attack in advance .
