From Dancing with the Stars to Jail: William Levy’s Shocking Arrest Explained!

9

Cuban-American actor William Levy, best known for his roles in telenovelas and as a former contestant on Dancing with the Stars, was arrested in Weston, Florida, earlier this week on charges of disorderly intoxication and trespassing.

Levy, 44, was involved in a disruptive incident at Baires Grill, a popular South Florida restaurant, where he was dining with friends. Eyewitnesses reported that the actor became upset over a high beverage bill, leading to a heated argument with the restaurant manager. The situation escalated when Levy allegedly pushed another individual, prompting staff to call the authorities.

After being asked to leave the restaurant, Levy reportedly returned to the establishment to retrieve his forgotten phone. However, when officers arrived, he refused to comply with their request to leave, which resulted in his arrest.

Levy was booked into the Broward County Main Jail and released the following morning after posting a $500 bond.

In his first public comments since the arrest, Levy downplayed the situation, claiming he was only trying to mediate a disagreement and denied any aggressive behavior. He jokingly stated that the authorities “had to take me for something” but did not elaborate on the trespassing charge.

This incident is the latest in a string of personal challenges for Levy. In May 2024, his longtime partner, actress Elizabeth Gutiérrez, confirmed their separation after 20 years together. Their relationship had previously been marked by public disputes, including a reported altercation involving their daughter in early 2024.

Levy, who is currently in Spain filming the series Arcadia, expressed that he plans to focus on his career and family amidst the ongoing media attention.
