Man Attempts to Set Coworker Ablaze with Homemade Flamethrower After Heated Argument
TOMBALL, TEXAS — A workplace dispute took a dangerous turn when a Texas man allegedly attempted to set his coworker on fire using a makeshift flamethrower composed of a gasoline-filled Gatorade bottle, a can of Lysol, and a lighter.

The incident occurred in the parking lot of Imperial Star Solar, a company located in Tomball, a suburb of Houston. According to police reports, 28-year-old Khalid Elhindi confronted a coworker whom he believed had made derogatory comments about his mother. After confirming the coworker’s identity, Elhindi reportedly doused him with gasoline from the Gatorade bottle. He then attempted to ignite the gasoline using a lighter and a can of Lysol, effectively creating a homemade flamethrower.
The victim managed to evade the initial attack, fleeing through the parking lot as Elhindi pursued him. When the flamethrower failed to ignite, Elhindi allegedly resorted to physical violence, punching the victim multiple times. The victim sustained injuries during the assault.
Elhindi was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He is currently being held in custody as the investigation continues.
This alarming incident underscores the importance of addressing workplace conflicts through appropriate channels and highlights the potential dangers of allowing personal disputes to escalate unchecked.
