$100,000 Reward Offered in Sunrise Mail Theft Case
Authorities are offering a reward of up to $100,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of two suspects caught on camera stealing mail from an apartment complex in Sunrise, Florida.

The incidents occurred on April 26 and April 28 at the Sunrise Lakes III complex on Sunrise Lakes Boulevard. Surveillance footage shows two men prying open mailboxes and removing mail. One suspect has visible tattoos on his arms and neck and is seen looking directly at the camera. They were seen leaving the scene in a grey Toyota RAV4 with a spare “doughnut” tire on the front right side.
Residents expressed concern over the thefts, noting the potential for stolen checks and personal information to be used fraudulently. Inspector Bryan Masmela of the U.S. Postal Inspection Service highlighted the risk of “check washing,” where stolen checks are altered and deposited fraudulently.
